Located in Koh Phangan, Thailand in a wellness-mecca called 'Srithanu' village, we are in the center of the tropical paradise with waterfalls, hiking trails, and beautiful beaches. We are centrally located, but just off the main roads, giving us the perfect balance of peace and accessibility.

Skye established The Tipi in 2018 to make it as fun and easy as possible for people to grow and heal. The TIPI represents the coming together of community, and the balance of humble power and softness, the play and dance with discipline, the integration of ying and yang.

Through yoga, fitness, martial arts, and more, we bring the highest quality of the most valuable skills and practices for mental and physical wellness and excellence.

At The Tipi, we merge softness with power, and discipline with play!  We offer Yoga & Meditation, Acro Yoga, Martial arts, Fitness, Movement and more!

Our devoted team of coaches and instructors are on a life-long mission in their arts, and here at Tipi, we’ve develop integrated programs to merge the “fine lines” between these arts, delivery a complete and powerful experience!

We are always working together to grow and learn from each other, and we see our students as friends and teachers as well!

Owner, Manager, and Coach

Skye is our Visionary behind The Tipi.  He is also the head coach of our fitness program, and leads the team.

Skye owned, opened, and operated personal training studios, and martial arts schools growing up in Boston, USA.  He has been coaching and training all types and levels of people since 2002.

Skye’s perseverance, focus, and vision comes from his martial arts and strength training.  He holds a 3rd degree blackbelt in a mix of martial arts with a diverse movement practice including bodybuilding, and fitness for over two decades.

Jaime Serradilla Gregorio is the European Masters 🥋 champion (2020) and 3rd-Degree Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) Black Belt under Robin Gracie.

He is an amazing, and passionate team member, with a heart of gold.  He’s one of the most skilled instructors we have ever met, and he has an incredible love and acceptance for his students and team – you will feel like family here.

George Anthony is an inspiring teacher that lives Yoga. He believes that Yoga practice helps people to live more fully knowing their self, and that an aligned life helps us practice Yoga more deeply, resulting in the bliss of balance. He teaches classic technique and philosophy from Hatha Yoga & Raja Yoga systems in a clear and succinct way that will open up your awareness of yourself, your body, mind, and spirit in connection with life and consciousness. These teachings include movement, asana(posture), pranayama(breath/energy control), kriya(purification), Yoga nidra(conscious ‘sleep’), Sanskrit mantra(chanting), visualization, and meditation.

The Tipi is setup as an all-inclusive community and retreat center!  We don’t know of anything else quite like it!  We built the entire campus to inspire people to connect, move and grow, and to support them in making it all pleasant, exciting, and easy!

We have an incredible combination of facility including:

  • Huge Bali-style bamboo Gym (the only in thailand) for exercise and instruction
  • 128 Square meter dojo Yoga Hall for classes
  • A 9 meter Tipi (biggest and only full-size nomadic Tipi in Thailand) for events and gatherings

Bamboo Fitness Temple

Often called “the Fitness Temple”, this inspiring bali-style gym provides you with all the most important essentials, from decades of gym ownership experience.

After 25 years of fitness and wellness industry experience, Skye has owned and operated multiple gyms, personal training studios, martial arts schools, bootcamp facilities, yoga schools and more!

In this time, we’ve learned the key equipment that allows our guests to get the most out of their training, and we’ve omitted the machines that hold them back!

Intelligently designed for beauty, air flow, and the co-utilization of space, you’ll find there’s something absolutely DIFFERENT about training at The Tipi.

Yoga Dojo Shala

Humbly, we gotta say, we got the ideal place to roll around the floor, or hang on the walls!

The big Dojo Yoga Shala offers 3cm mats PERFECT for things like jiu jitsu, movement drills, acro yoga, contact dance, and more. You’ll feel like you’re rolling on clouds!

On the other half of the hall, we stuck to beautiful 1cm pads that double as an ALL OVER yoga mat. Stable enough for handstand, and joint comfort, but soft enough for deep relaxation!

The entire hall has great lighting, a gentle an atmosphere, and huge bamboo/steel sliding doors (16 meters total) that open up to massive air flow, and give that “dojo” feel.

We have unlimited ceiling anchor points, and alot of body-weight equipment all over the walls, as well as a power rack.

Skye built all of the equipment, and the innovative sliding walls, with his own hands, custom for the space.

You’ll notice details here, and all over the space, of this kind of enchanting, special touch.

Community Tipi

The ancient Tipi is a magical structure with incredible simple and effective engineering.  The Tipi encourages togetherness, and is an amazing unique place where you can experience fire, and rain at the same time!
We enjoy kirtan nights, massage circles, yin yoga, movie nights, and more in our warm tipi space.
The tipi is about 9 meters diameter and can hold 20-100 people depending on the usage.

Ice Bath

We love ice baths for their powerful effects in recovery, healing, breaking addictions, coping with stressful situations and more! The ice baths are a very fun and invigorating experience which we enjoy in groups.

Particularly in this tropical climate, the ice baths are a welcomed addition to your training. We have three ice baths on campus, to accommodate for larger groups.

On-Campus Housing

We have 7 on-campus accommodations that sleep 1-2 people each.

About 1/2 the homes are aircon and 1/2 are efficient fan houses. Every fan house is very well-ventilated, shaded, and comfortable for all seasons.

Each Home:

  • has great wifi (50mbps-600mbps!)
  • desk for computer work, etc.
  • includes a nice indoor and outdoor space
  • comes with nice loungy hammock
  • is lifted up off the ground (keeps cooler and more ventilated, prevents issues with flooding, helps with mosquitoes)
  • bathroom with warm shower
  • small kitchenette with sink, water heater, stove top, utensils, plates, cups, bowls, and other kitchen essentials

Skye created the Tipi in 2018, after a lifetime of seeking the best practices for personal development, joy, movement, and connection.

Skye: “For as long as I can remember, I have independently sought many practices of self-development, movement, and joy for basically my whole adolescent and adult life. I started martial arts at 5, meditation at 12, and yoga at 16. Nobody told me about each ‘next practice’ that would benefit me on my path, and I had to discover for myself, the links and powerful partnerships between the practices.

At that point in time, each of these practices were super difficult to find teachings for. Today’s bigger problem is one of quantity over quality, and a lack of integration.

Nowadays, if you can manage to narrow down and find the most valuable arts, it can be extremely difficult to find truly experienced, true, devoted, and skilled teachers to pass their experience and transmission onto you!

It’s harder, in fact, next to impossible, to find an integrated team from diverse backgrounds, working together offering a cohesive program.

At Tipi it’s my goal to give you what I wish I had been offered, in a life time of pursuit, in just a tiny fraction of the time, eliminating as many obstacles as possible to your growth, and deeply inspiring you along the way.”

Integration was one of the main callings for the development of Tipi – though any given class can stand alone as a single experience, the entire program is designed by all the teachers together, to give you a full, expert-guided deep-dive into yourself, and your potential for happiness, balance, joy, and strength.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

Bjj is technical ground control martial art, where you use the least amount of power and the most amount of leverage to control your opponent or aggressor. For both male and female, Jiu Jitsu promotes mastery of one's own body, and others.

Our head instructor, Jaime Gregorio, is a 3rd Degree Black Belt from Robin Gracie. Gracie jiu jitsu is particularly famous for its highest achievements in the ground sports, as well as it's specialty in using technique over size and strength.

We love Jaime for his devotion and care for his students, and his incredibly detailed mastery and commitment to the sport. He's won the Open European championships, and has trained, and competed among some of the top students in the game.

9 weekly classes for 4,500 baht per month. Or drop-ins at 400 baht. Gis (uniforms) available for renting.

The classes are alternating Gi, and No gi, to focus on both the practical and the technical.Once a week we hold a free open mat on Saturdays for all the bjj community to come roll together for free.

YOGA MEDITATION AND BREATHWORK

George was certified in 2009 by Adrian Cox in Bangkok, Thailand. He has taught in Thailand since then, teaching classes and retreats, and facilitating teacher training courses. He’s worked at some of the most popular and highly respected centers including Yoga Elements Studio Bangkok, Vikasa Yoga Koh Samui, and One Yoga Koh Phangan. He also runs courses and workshops internationally with his training school, Sajeeva Yoga, with invitations to various countries around the world.

George is also a certified Level 1 AcroYoga teacher, a skilled handstand instructor, has trained in Yoga therapy and Thai massage, and is a talented musician. He loves to hold Kirtan(singing yoga), sound journey sessions, and join drum circles.

Yoga

A daily yoga practice is an invaluable practice for a balanced being.

Yoga is one of the best tools we’ve found for finding connection to source. Flow from head, to heart, as we align with our highest-self, and the divine.

Breathwork

These select ancient breathwork techniques will empower you, and center you. Bring life to stagnant energy, awareness to the unconscious, and balance the brain-hemispheres.

Breathwork is a fundamental cleansing and focusing tool. We are excited to share with you these few key techniques to master the mind through the breath.

Meditation

In meditation, we access the deep power that is beyond our simpler experience!

Still the mind and tune in to your true calling. Slow down and reconnect to your truest self. Release your thoughts and shift from head, to heart. Restore a state of balance and equilibrium to your thoughts. Listen closely and unlock the secrets to reaching your limitless potential.

YIN YOGA WITH LIGHT THERAPY!

Yin Yoga is done completely uniquely at The Tipi! The entire floor is made of comfortable padded floor so that even the parts of you that end up 'off the mat' will be comfortable and supported!

That paired with our unique soft purple, blue and red lighting, with a touch of incense and lots of love, make our Yin Yoga class, the true post-sunset restoration.

ABOUT SKYE

The Tipi is the brainchild of your head coach, Skye.

Skye owned, opened, and operated personal training studios, and martial arts schools growing up in Boston, USA.  He has been coaching and training all types and levels of people since 2002.

Skye’s perseverance, focus, and vision comes from his martial arts and strength training.  He holds a 3rd degree blackbelt in a mix of martial arts with a diverse movement practice including bodybuilding, and fitness for over two decades.

His playful and creative movement style is inspired by a plethora of other practices.  You’ll see him implement animal flow, capoeira, calisthenics, boxing, basic gymnastics, a lot of fun partner games, and more.

Meditation has been with Skye from the young age of 12 , with yoga entering and staying in his life since 16 years old.  These life-long mindfulness practices allow Skye to balance the masculine and feminine forces,

Skye brings discipline and focus mixed with play, connection, and exploration into a unique and fun experience.

A student of natural building, Skye loves working with natural materials like bamboo and earth, and aims to share, inspire, and empower others to live more naturally.

A lover of nature, and dogs, Skye is a highly motivated and passionate individual who can be found handstanding, coding, building, or hiding in corners playing guitar.

It motivates Skye to see people grow, and create a more beautiful world together.

FAQs

  • How do I get to Koh Phangan?

    Koh Phangan is easily accessible by boat from Surat Thani, Koh Tao & Koh Samui. The closest airports are Koh Samui and Surat Thani, and many trains travel to Surat Thani from other parts of Thailand. You can check out the best options on 12go.asia

  • How do I get to The Tipi from the pier?

    When you arrive at Thong Sala pier there will be taxis waiting there to take you to your destination. You can get a taxi truck for around 300 baht or a moto taxi for 200 baht to bring you to Sri Thanu.

  • Do you have a laundry service on site?

    We have coin operated washing machines at The Tipi which you can use for 30 baht per wash. You will need to provide your own detergent.

  • How do I travel around Koh Phangan?

    Renting a scooter is the most convenient way to get around Koh Phangan and rental costs on average 150 baht per day or 2,500 per month. There are plenty of places to rent them from nearby, just get in touch with us if you need any help.

    If you’re not comfortable driving a scooter, you can also rent bicycles or walk to the many cafes, restaurants and venues in our village of Sri Thanu.

  • What can I do in my spare time?

    Koh Phangan has so many amazing activities to get involved with on your down time. The island has countless serene beaches, waterfalls & hiking trails if you want to connect to mother earth.

    If you’re staying on the island after the retreat, there are also many events happening within the conscious community such as ecstatic dance, group meditations, culinary workshops, dance/music events - anything you could want really!
